Mane Juice- A Wild Heart Origin Story

Self proclaimed serial entrepreneur, I’ve been restless my whole life, always on the hunt for that “this is it” feeling. The search took me from biology at the U of C in passive pursuit of a career in veterinary medicine to marketing at Mount Royal University and finally on to Web Development. While each of these educational pursuits held value in their own right, perhaps unsurprisingly, the idea of a lifetime spent working with Java Script and PHP turned out to be less than fulfilling- and so my search continued.
For some, my stumbling upon the idea of Mane Juice is simply a happy accident. For others, evidence that the universe feasibly has a greater plan. Whatever the case my desire to improve on the price and quality of the mane oil I was already using gave life to a product unlike any other on the market. A product that was all-natural and incredibly beneficial to the point that the women using it on their equine partners could take it home and see the same benefits for themselves (that shine though!). The product worked so well it practically sold itself- once people knew about it.
“How do I get this in front of the right people?” the marketer in me wondered. Enter the concept of the Wild Heart. I started nominating the women in my life who inspired me. The ones too wild to be held up with belittling others. The ones who walked around shedding light and who shared their super powers willingly. The women who understood that a candle is no less bright for lighting another. It didn’t take long for the Wild Heart nominations to come flooding in. Turns out, you guys couldn’t wait to build each other up. Each time I sent a message letting a #wildheart know they had been nominated it was met with humility and gratitude and even love. Not the romantic kind, the ‘spread the warmth in a world that feels a little too cold right now’ kind. And there it was, that feeling. I had been looking in all the wrong places. I couldn’t have known that my “this is it” was never going to come from the right schooling, the right job, the right product. It was never going to come from the Mane Juice.
-it was going to come from something with a little more heart.
