The #Wildheart Initiative

Why the Wild Heart Initiative?
Don't you sell mane oil?
Absolutely! And it does an excellent job nourishing the hair, mane and skin of Wild women and their horses. But what about nourishing the INSIDE of those Wild women?
It’s pretty simple really. Women can be mean. Equestrian women can be down right ruthless. At some point we’ve all been the woman worried about what the girls at the gate are saying about us… and if we are being honest, we’ve all also been the girls at the gate.
If you buy the fancy horse and you don’t win, you can’t ride. If you do win, it’s because you bought the fancy horse. In an industry where you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t- it’s important to sit back and realize that every single one of us is just doing our best with what we have and know at any given time.
We all started as beginners at some point. And maybe we grew up on the back of a horse, and maybe we got a later start and are trying desperately to catch up. Maybe we are lucky enough to call working with horses every day our job, maybe those same ‘lucky’ women spend so much time riding other people’s horses they seldom have time for their own. Maybe we work two jobs and have to squeeze riding into an already exhausting schedule. We all have a story. Every one of us has had set backs. Wondered what our horse could do if someone with just a bit more talent was on her back. Every one of us has sacrificed more than we probably should have to get where we are. The time with family, the bumps and bruises, sweat and tears, hard landings and harder lessons. And the money… oh the money. When our daughters are the girls standing at the gate, what kind of people do we want them to be? How do we want them to leave other women feeling?
What do we want said behind their backs? Behind the backs of our friends?
It’s time we realize that a victory for one woman, is a victory for all of us. Wild women aren’t petty, we know a candle doesn’t lose its flame for lighting another candle.
You never look good trying to make another person look bad. Let’s go ahead and build each other up. Let's nourish and celebrate the WILD woman inside all of us and in our lives. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we felt the girls at the gate rooting for us instead?
